About NBBC

New Beginnings Boys Camp (NBBC) is located in Cuauhtemoc Chihuahua Mexico. In the mountains off of the Corredor Commercial at KM 5 or Campo 2A. It is beautifully situated in a valley between mountains and surrounded by lots of trees.

What is NBBC? It is a camp for especially teenage boys. Our goal is to make men out of boys. Some come with addictions of different kinds such as vaping, different kinds of drugs, pornography, etc. Others come with deep hurts caused by dysfunctional homes, others with anger issues, and some very rebellious and stubborn. Still others are born again individuals who simply come to experience more, be stretched to new levels or to grow in their Christian Life.

Classes

We begin our mornings with a time of Singing and a devotional. We have a Spiritual class every day of the week except Sunday. These consist of topics like: Respect, God Made me, Lessons from the Prodigal Son, Purity, Salvation Plan and Finances. The boys spend about an hour every day from Mon.-Fri. doing homework which consists of some Bible Reading, Memorizing Bible verses and some writing assignments.

Meals

The boys get 3 meals a day and usually a snack in the afternoon and another one in the evening if they are hungry. They need to eat what is on the table with a thankful attitude.

Work

The boys work around 90 hrs per term. Our goal is to teach them to become good employees that the employers will be glad to hire. To be responsible and reliable.

Cabin Inspection

They are required to make their beds, keep their clothes folded and in order, to do their own laundry, and overall keep the cabin neat and clean. They are held to a very high standard of a demerit system. This teaches them to start paying attention to detail and to start caring about how things look in their rooms at home and just helps develop an attitude of starting to care about different things.

Punctuality

This is a very important part of our program. Teaching the boys to be on time. We all appreciate those people more who are on time for things. When does late start? One second after the appointed time!

Practical Classes

We have a variety of practical classes each term. About 8 hours per class to teach them some different practical things.

First Aid Classes by Cruz Roja (Primeros Auxilios) Search and Rescue Training. Cooking Classes. Wood Working. Big Motor Repair. Welding Class. Slaughter. Cowboy classes, which includes Horse Care, learning to rope, and Riding the Horse.

These classes may vary from term to term.

PT (Physical Training)

We have 45 minutes of Work Out 5 days a week. We focus on Upper Body, Lower Body, and Running.

Hiking

We do several hikes each term and they vary in length from one hike to the next. Our goal for these hikes is to teach a few things.

Endurance. Keep a good attitude. Being Willing to help others. Have fun.

Team Building Activities

We do a lot of different activities that are geared toward teamwork. Learning to work or get along with other people. Especially those who are harder to get along with or have totally different ideas then you.

Also, a lot of the activities are set up in a way that you have to think and figure it out. In today’s world our technology is starting to do the thinking for us or we have numbed our minds.
